Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Mar 29, 2002 8:06 pm

Four wks. ago I had a face lift/eyelid surgery that lasted 8 hrs.Upon awakening I had SEVERE burning left heel pain Anything that contacted heel worsened pain.Relief was met by putting foot in ice water.By 3rd. day pain had lessened, but no change since.I still can't wear shoe or withstand weight on heel.Any advice appreciated. My plastic surgeon has told me the pain is from nerve damage due to pressure. What do I do for this condition? thank you

You should see a podiatrist for a thorough examination to see if you can be properly diagnosed. You may need an MRI to check the area for damage. Also, there are other neurological conditions that can be triggered due to minor trauma such as surgery. These conditions include RSD and fibromyalgia. You can read more about these conditions at www.neurologychannel.com. Good luck and please write back if you have any further questions.
