heel pain

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Sep 05, 2002 5:47 pm

I have heel pain at the back of my left heel just under my ankle and on both sides. It is aggravated by walking or just flexing my foot up and down. I do not wear high heels and walking any distance causes pain that lasts for days. What is causing this and what can I do to get relief?

You may have achilles tendonitis which can happen quite often as people become less active. The achilles tendon tends to shorten and activity causes it to be over-stretched and inflammed. Therefore, a stretching program would help if this is your condition. However, you need to see a podiatrist to be properly diagnosed first.
