P-Fasciitis or Fat Pad??

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Feb 25, 2003 10:16 pm

I have had severe heel pain in both feet for over 8 mths now. Have gone through just about all conservative treatments for plantar fasciitis Now considering surgery, however, recent doctor's visit brought up possibility of "heel pad atrophy". Is anyone aware of what this is, how it may be diagnosed or treated, and what the difference would be in how the pain would feel compared to plantar fasciitis? Thanks.

I have been treated for plantar fasciitis since Jan. 08, but two days ago I was told my heel pad has degenerated (atrophy). New orthitics have been ordered, but since they have not helped before, I am not optimistic. Did you have any improvement?.......Stu.

I would like to know if you were able to get relief and what was done. What helped you and what did not? I have had multiple treatments with no success (one year). They are now considering surgery. Has anyone out there found relief after a long period of suffering? Anyone??
