Heel Pain

For about a month I have had almost a burning sensation when stretching my left heel. My left heel also hurts upon waking or when I've been sitting at my computer for long hours. I'd say from reading the posted articles that that is plantar fasciitis (a little self diagnosis there). But the burning sensation along the inside of my left heel doesn't seem to be addressed in these articles.

I swim 2 miles a day, am not overweight, and mostly wear sensible shoes. Sometimes before I swim, I get in to a spa and stretch my heel. That seems to help, but the sensation is not pleasant. It's almost as if something is tearing inside my foot. Nothing shows on the outside of my foot.

Any ideas?
