plantar fascia

Post a new topicby Guest on Sat Feb 02, 2002 7:40 am

I developed plantar fascia. i am baffled about how I got it because it began AFTER i took 10 days off to rest so that I did not over train...anyway the pain got so bad that I couldn't even walk during the day. That was 9 weeks ago. I haven't run, jumped or done anything remotely athletic since then. Is this enough time to allow it to heal? Can I start slowly and gradually return to my regimine or should i begin a rehab program?

The key to relieving planatar fasciitis is to stretch daily, especially before you get out of bed in the morning as well as treating the inflammation. Therefore, you should see a podiatrist who will give you a rehab program to decrease your chances of reinjuring the area. If you just start running again, there is a good chance the sudden shock will reinjure the area.
