Husband has ingrown toe problem, what do I do?

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

My husb has very normal looking feet except two big toes have ingrown nails on both sides to point nail is trying to grow in a circle is taking a portion of soft flesh underneath nail into circle. It doesn't appear to be infected it is sore if touched or bumped. He doesn't wear tight shoes he never tramatized his toe so is happening? We don't have insurance so we will have to pay cash I'm assuming he will need nail removed, at least portion is growing in a circle mation is about 1/2 or more of nail. How much should cost us will y have to do? foot stuff is very new to us so we want to know to expect. Any suggestion on finding an inexpensive good foot doctor? Thanks any help all can offer.

Most doctors will allow you to pay on a payment plan. Ingrown toe nails vary in cost depending on the treatment performed. There are clinics that may be less expensive. Just be honest with the doctor. We apologize for the late reply but he should see a doctor before it becomes infected. Good luck and if you have any further questions, please write back.
