ingrown nail

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Feb 15, 2002 10:43 am

Hello:
Someone jumped on my big toe causing great trauma to the nailbed- it has become two tiered, lower by the matrix and higher near the tip. My problem is that due to the slope, I am fearful that my nail may grown forward into the skin at the tip of my toe instead of growing over it. Is there any surgery I could try, or anything else I could do to try and prevent this?

A podiatrist can remove the nails in his office and a new, healthy nail can regrow in its place in many cases.
