several years I have had toenail fungus (inherited). Last July I received a prescription to treat fungus, worked, as my new "healthy" (big toes)toenails grew, y grew in (also inherited). I have been soaking m in salt water also in peroxide periodically. y finally grown out to end of toe, sides still slightly swollen occasionally bleed. I still cannot wear shoes all day long. While I think I have endured worst, part, will nail ever grow back out? If I can keep it from being infected will problem ever correct elf?

The redness and bleeding means it may already be infected. You have healthy nails now and are only one step away with being happy with your feet. That step is to see a podiatrist so the ingrown portions of the nail can be removed properly and with sterile instruments. Good luck, have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
