Partial numbness in toe

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jul 10, 2001 2:39 pm

I had an in-grown nail on my big toe last week. It became red and painful but after applying some antiseptic and cutting my toenail, it got better. However, now the underside of my big toe feels numb and de-sensitised. Has the infection destroyed the nerves in my big toe ?

You may still have an infection under the skin where the nerves are located. Therefore, you should see a podiatrist so your toe can be examined and treated properly. Your toe should not be numb due to an ingrown nail.
