prostetic nail availability?I used to suffer from ingrown toenails (age 12) so I had a highly recommended podiatrist take a look.
He recommended and performed a surgery where he narrowed the nail on my big toe by cutting all the way down into the roots on both sides of the nail making it narrower. The nail never really grew back and I still have pain (age 34). It is now quite thick (onchomycosis?) and I had a different podiatrist tell me I should have the nail entirely removed and the face of my toe treated so there is no toenail at all but rather a smooth surface. I am repulsed by the sight of the existing nail and the thought of having no toenail at all. Is it possible to have some kind of artificial nail permanently attached? This whole ordeal has traumatized me since high school. I am tired of it having control over my life (pool parties, beach trips, summer vacations...) I have high quality insurance and am willing to pay out of pocket for noncovered expenses. Is there a podiatrist or surgeon in Southern California that can assist me? Thank you.
Re: prostetic nail availability?Unofortunately, artificial nails are not available at this time.
