toe pain

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu May 09, 2002 10:25 am

I think that I have an ingrown toenail. My big toe is so painful and swollen. I also have another problem. I feel the constant need to crack my big toes. They have pain, and when I bend and crack them, the pain is temporarily releived. They are also a little bit numb. Questions? DO you think that I need to see a podiatrist to help the ingrown toenail, or is ther a way for me to treat it myself? What about the toe cracking?? I feel like it's a never ending cycle. When I crack my toes too much, they hurt, but if I don't, they hurt worse?? Any advice? Thank you!

You should definitely see a podiatrist for your toenail because it is probably infected. Also, you may have arthritis in your big toe joints which leads to the pain you describe. Therefore, you really should see a podiatrist for both problems so you can be treated properly.
