Ingrown Toenails

a few weeks ago i stubbed my tow very harshly on a piece of furniture. the toe bleed severly, but i was able to control the bleeding and placed neosporine to stop help with the healing. since then, the toenail has become brittal and completely fallen off my toe; the whole thing kinda fell out in one piece from the root...leaving this gap in the cuticle of my toe. the skin where the toe nail use to be is now kind of hard/stiff. is this a new nail growing in? if not, will there ever be a new nail? or shall that piggy be forever without a roof?

When trauma causes a nail to fall off, it may never regrow. However, it normally does regrow in most cases. It will take about 3 months for the nail to grow out if it does. The skin will harden to protect the area while there is no nail there.
