Ingrown Toenails

What is the normal amount of time for nail re-growth after total nail removal? I had all my toenails removed due to a rare drug side effect (Effexor). The week after each procedure, there were nail pieces still there. The long story made short, is that I ended up getting them all re-done by a different podiatrist than the first one. I am going to small claims court to recover the out of pocket expenses the first podiatrist caused me. He is trying to say they had 're-growth', or that I had 2 sets of toe nails...(what?!) Toenails don't re-grow that quick. I need an expert opinion on the normal rate of nail regrowth. These were all taken off permanently. Thanks for any help.
