I just had the operation on 9 March 2009 to remove morton's neuroma from my right foot. I originally booked a week off work but have had to take an extra week as it is still quite painful - same symptoms as before the operation really i.e. the pain in the bottom of the foot so that i can't put it down in addition to this i have pins and needles and ache in my leg if i sit normally and have to keep it raised making going back to work very difficult at the moment. i just hope the operation's worked! A colleague of mine had very bad experience following the same operation and was off work for 6 weeks and still has problems and sometimes now uses a stick to walk - she would not recommend the surgery (nb she had to have 2 operations first to remove the MN from the top and then when this did not work they went in from the bottom and removed a lot of the padding on the foot as a result also she had 2 "MN"s in the same foot. She has the same symptoms in the other foot but is not going ahead with surgery but I think she is rather an isolated case?).. however a neighbour has also had it done recently and is experiencing no problems and would recommend the op. I was told it would take between 2 - 4 weeks before i could drive etc so am just keeping my fingers crossed although almost 2 weeks later now and driving would definitely be out of the question. I get the stitches out on Monday and am hoping that will help.
