I had surgery for a MN in my left foot on May 6, 2009. I had struggled with the pain since 1996, when I had a crushing injury to my foot and broke a toe. My doctor, who is part of the Mayo Clinic System, advised skipping the cortisone treatments and going straight forward with the surgery. The surgery was fast (they went in from the top down) and I spent most of the first week on the couch, only getting up if I had to (thank goodness for a wonderful husband!)
