Morton's Neuroma

I need help...I don't want to waste time...I have apt w my neurologist on Mon, I have had this pain on and off for years but it is getting worse. I thought it might be part of my peripheral neuropathic pain but it's a bit different...feels more like I have a marble under my foot and a paper cut kind of feel to it between the 3rd and 4th toe on right foot. Can my neurologist treat me for this or do I need a referral to a podiatrist? I"m hoping toavoid surgery unless its the only way.
