4 weeks post opHi - just wanted to let you know about my post-op experience with MN. I am pleasantly surprised how smoothly everything has gone. I am a wimp with pain and made sure I was loaded up with drugs after surgery but I have had absolutely no post-op pain and so far have not even used advil. I have followed the orth's instructions to the T--no weight bearing on the foot for a week (well, I started to "heal walk" after about 5 days as the crutches were hard to use.) Then gradually started to walk about week 3. My stitches were removed at week 2. This week I have been walking around Wal-mart and the malls(week 4) It is great having no MN pain-- realized it when I was standing at the workbench this week for about 2 hours without pain!!!! The only thing that is somewhat bothersome is a numb area underneath the toes when I wake up. But once I start walking for awhile it goes away. I have started to just dangle my leg on in bed before I get up and this seems to resolve the numb walking on a rock feeling. I don't know if this will get better with time. All in all I have not experienced any of the horror stories posted on this website. I have been an avid life time walker and hiker and anticipate that I should get back to this in a couple more weeks. I will not go back to work until week 6 since I stand at work but sure have used the time constructively to read, get my digital photos in order etc. I talked to three people prior to surgery about it and they all have had positive experiences. Good Luck---Lydia
