awful pain in front of my foothello I wonder if anyone can help. I am not sure if I have got Morton's Neuroma and feel a bit of a fool if I start telling my doctor that is what I think it is. I am a long distance runner and run between 10 to 15 miles six out of seven days. I recently had a bit of an injury (three months ago) which look like a stress fracture high up in my foot and it was a little swollen. However, I continued to run with a niggle (rather than sharp pain) with the help of some ibuprofen and the pain usually subsided after the first mile. Since then a couple of weeks ago, without warning the pain moved down towards my toe (but feels like the top of my foot) rather than the base of my foot between the metartarsal bones (probably spelt that wrong). The pain has not subsided and as a pose runner (midfoot strike) means that I cannot put any weight at all on that foot. I went to the dr who thought it was a stress fracture from overuse and she sent me for an xray. The two students who xrayed me took three xrays and looked unsure, but confirmed that they did not think that it was a stress fracture and sent me on my way! Since then I have been trying to self diagnose myself (as I don't think I can afford to see a specialist at the moment. Is there anybody out there who can offer me some advice before I visit my GP.... When i massage ibuprofen gel into my foot it feels very gristly and there is some movement under the skin that is not there in the other foot.
Kind regards Biopup
