Re: Bunion surgery a year ago, and now Morton's NeuromaHi Debbie - Thanks for your reply. My emotions over my latest news are on over-load so it nice to be able to talk to someone who really understands. An MRI was not suggested as both docs didn't think I had a neuroma, and apparently it wouldn't show much of anything in that respect anyways. The burning sensation is settling down a bit, but that is being replaced by that familiar buzzing/zinger type feeling. I understand what you mean by your other foot bothering you and I'm sure it is due to overcompensating for the other sore foot. But yeah, life does go on despite everything and you just have to do things and grin and bare it. How was your night after doing yard work all day? Have you thought about getting another opinion? Might be worth a shot, do you think? It's almost like doctors give up on people if they can't resolve their problems, so a fresh set of eyes and ears might shed some new light on your situation. I am curious as to who did your surgeries, a podiatrist or othopedic surgeon? Anyways, speaking of life going on, I best get back to it. Take care and please write anytime.

Re: Bunion surgery a year ago, and now Morton's NeuromaVicky,
Hi! I hope that you're having a good day. Is the foot feeling any better today? I did have a rough night, and again last night. When I get up in the mornings it takes me about 30 minutes before I can walk on my feet very much. It seems like they get so stiff and sore! I have an orthopaedic dr. and he seems to be a good one but he just doesn't give me time to even talk to him. He just automaticly wants to do more surgery. I sometimes think I'd be better off if I hadn't had the first one. I'm all for surgery if it'll make this pain go away. My problem is the more I have done the worse it's getting. You're right a second opinion would be a good idea. I'm just trying to put it off.......I keep thinking I need to give it time. How long did you wait before you went back? Thanks for writing. It does help to talk to people who know what we're going through. Have a great day! Debbie
Re: Bunion surgery a year ago, and now Morton's NeuromaHi Debbie - I hope you are feeling better today. I know what you mean by when you first get up in the morning, ugh! I have been wearing my shoes with the metatarsal pad and I'm finding that uncomfortable, but there are no shoes that feel good to me other then I have a pair of steel toed work boots and I can actually deal with those, but I'm not about to wear those around the house, they weigh a ton! Anyways, in answer to your question about how long I waited to get a second opinion - 15 months and I kick myself for not going sooner. It's been what 3 months since your last surgery, right? It is so frustrating when a dr. doesn't seem to listen to you, it's like a total waste of time for both of you. Well, I just wanted to check in. I have been having trouble posting messages as I will log in, write my message, go to post it and then it says I am not logged in and I've lost everything I've written. Here's hoping it works this time. Take care and keep in touch.

Re: Bunion surgery a year ago, and now Morton's NeuromaVicki, I've been having the same trouble posting. I'm no typist anyway so I give it up after a couple of tries! You sound like me with the boots! I've got an old pair of boots that my son wore years ago that are too big for me but I wear them outside to work in. They feel better than any I've got! I can't stand to walk barefoot anymore can you? I used to wear only socks in the house but not anymore! I'm sorry that you suffered for fifteen months before going back. I am the worst for that too. I keep thinking it'll get better. Do you think the pads are going help? Have you gotten used to them? I'm sure they would hurt until your foot adjusts to them? I hope that you have a good day today and that you soon get relief. Thanks for sharing...

Re: Bunion surgery a year ago, and now Morton's NeuromaHi Debbie - So it's not just me having trouble posting. I let the website know about this problem so hopefully they will be able to fix it. That's funny about the boots being our most comfortable shoes. I wonder if they make them in a heel! Not that I wear those very much, but I would like to think that someday I'll be able to if I want. I am the same way in regards to going barefoot, ouch! That drives me nuts! I am not having much luck yet with the met pads. I have only tried them in one pair of shoes so far as aside from the boots and these maryjanes that I wear everyday, there really isn't anything else that is tolerable. I think that the arch is too high in this shoe and even though the store where I bought them shaved them down for me, it still seems too high. So, I went for more x-rays today in preparation for my next appt. This is the 7th set since my surgery! Crazy or what! My appt. is next week, so I hope that something encouraging comes of that. Well, I hope that you've been having better days lately. With spring here now, there is so much more to do it seems, although just last week we had a bit of snow here. It melted right away, but it has continued to stay cool, so I really haven't been doing much outdoors yet. Anyways, take care and thanks for writing. - Vicky
Re: Bunion surgery a year ago, and now Morton's NeuromaVicky, oh yeah the boots! Mine are really stylish...they're camoflauged(sp?) Should go with anything right? lol I hope that you get some good news next week! I think it's about time don't you? Hope you have a great weekend and that it warms up there. Here it's been in the 70s and 80s this week but supposed to cool back down. I hate that. Weather changes really affect my foot pain. How about you? Take care. Debbie
