Cortisone for scar tissueWonder if anyone has had cortisone injection for excessive scar tissue??
I had second operation on left foot in February this year (first - both feet - was Oct 07. Both ops from top). Turned out in Feb there was a lot of fibrosis, small regrowth of neuroma and the nerve had regrown into a bursa. Despite doing everything I know how the fibrosis is re-forming and the surgeon proposes injecting the bottom of the foot, under general anaesthetic, in a number of places in an effort to break up the fibrosis. He will use water soluble cortisone so there is no danger to the fat pad (which is wearing a little thin). I started laser treatment recently for the fibrosis and will carry on with that to back up the injections. Does anyone have any experience of cortisone (or laser) for scar tissue? At it's most basic, I'm wondering if and how sore the foot might be afterwards? Injections are on Friday and Monday evening I have an hour and a half flight to work away for the rest of the week.
