Cryo procdedure done on 7/1/09Well I opted for a cryo freexing procedure on my MN yesterday in lieu of surgery. I had it done on my worst foot, the right, between 3rd and 4th space. Quite a simple and painless procedure as I drove home afterwards. Couold actually see the probe and nerve via the sonogram screen during the procedure. Just reduced activity and icepack for a few days and I'll start to evaluate the results. I'd be interested to hear anyone elses experiences with this technique.
Thanks C Irwin
Re: Cryo procdedure done on 7/1/09Hi ~
I had cryo done TWICE on the same foot and while the relief felt great for about 2 months, it didn't last (obviously since I had it redone). Right now, I'm in so much pain I could cut my foot off. I've seen an incredible specialist for a 2nd opinion (he's an orthopedic surgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers) and he said short of having major surgery that would require absolutely no weight on my foot for 6-8 weeks and extensive rehab therapy, plus a permanently numb foot for the rest of my life, there's really nothing I can do. He recommended physical therapy to see if it helps, but I've not had time to try it yet. This sucks because I'm only 47 years old and have been dealing with this for the past 3 years. I can't imagine this pain forever. It starts to radiate up into my leg, then I favor the way I walk and it causes my back to hurt...... *UGH*
Re: Cryo procdedure done on 7/1/09I just had my second neuroma surgery 4 weeks ago and I am already in alot less pain than before the surgery. My first on I ended up with a neuroma stump which is rare but I am one of the lucky ones. Ha Ha. I was on crutches for 3 weeks and have been in a boot for about a week now but I am already feeling much better. I would recommend the surgery because I tried the cortisone injections and they did nothing for me. Let me know what you decide. Go Steelers!!!!
