diagnosing MN - radiatingpain???

Post a new topicby chetmatt on Fri Apr 11, 2008 2:49 pm

Hi all,
I'm researching for a friend who's doctors have not been able to diagnose her problem. All of her symptoms seem to match MN, except that she has pain radiating not only to her toes but also back up her leg to the calf. Is this consistent with MN? I've only read about pain in the foot and radiating to the toes.

thanks for any input/experience!

Hi
I suggest your friend may benefit from visiting a massage therapist, especially one specialising in trigger point therapy - trigger points in muscles refer pain to other areas. If that fails try chiropractic or biomechanical assessment of the foot and lower limb. If your friend has been suffering from this for awhile she may be compensating in her gait which can lead to other problems which need addressing.
