Just diagnosed with MNHi everyone
My first post to this forum. My problems are slight compared with some of the stories here, but I thought my experiences might be of use or interest to others. I live in Wales, UK, and after experiencing excruciating pain in my left foot, and some judicious Internet research, decided that I might have a MN. My doctor agreed, and after an ultrasound examination today, the radiographer says I indeed have a small MN (about 10mm across, and 2mm deep). In the time between my self-diagnosis and today's official version, I have found a way of managing my condition. If I get out of bed in the morning and put my foot down immediately, I experience severe pain. However, if I hobble around for about 20 minutes, keeping my weight on my left heel, the pain goes away to the extent that it is as if it was never there. I work as a bookseller, and am on my feet literally all day, and I cycle to and from work, so maybe these activities are keeping the neuroma in a place where it doesn't cause me any grief. I have to be careful to repeat the hobbling around after any period of lying down, but otherwise it as as if there is nothing wrong. I was advised that I should monitor the condition, and was also advised about the possibilities of injections and surgery, but am very relieved that I am apparently fortunate enough for this condition not to impact too much on my life. My heart goes out to those of you who are experiencing so much pain and so many problems. I'm going to watch these discussions with interest! All the best to everyone. Best regards John
