Morton's tingling only with one pair of sandalsHi, I'm new here and was just told I had Morton's Neuroma Crazy thing is that I only have the tingling in my foot when I wear my very nice new pair of sandals. The first time the tingling lasted for 3 days then went away. Wore them again today and same tingling sensation. Other than returning the shoes are there any other suggestions? I haven't read any physical exercises for this condition.
Re: Morton's tingling only with one pair of sandalsDitch the sandles and book an op. No need to prolong the inevitable .We have all for various reasons put it off for as long as we could ,but all end up under the knife eventually. Sorry but thats the reality of MN
Re: Morton's tingling only with one pair of sandalsI don't agree that surgery is inevitable. I've had an extended 'conversation' with barbarabennett on this topic on a duplicate post ...
Morton's only in with one pair of sandals by barbarabennett on Fri May 29, 2009 In summary - caught early enough, MN can sometimes be kept at bay with decent footwear and orthotics. If it becomes clear surgery is inevitable because the MN is so interfearing with your lifestyle, I agree there's no point hanging about - but that point may never be reached, or at least it may be delayed for years. Surgery works for most peope, but there's a significant minority - I'm one - for whom it can create a whole lot more problems. I had both feet done together; the right wasn't as bad as the left but I thought it'd be easier to get it all over in one go. The scar tissue that's formed, despite all precautions, regrowing of the neuromas, and nervers going berserk has made me wish I'd hadn't had the right done as it was perfectly liveable with and now it's worse than it ever was before. That said, although the left is worse too, it was bad enough that I'd always have taken the risk with the surgery. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Re: Morton's tingling only with one pair of sandalsThe sandals are gone and I have absolutely NO pain or tingling at all. I don't feel a bump in my foot and all seems to be okay, therefore, I won't be planning on any surgery. Very strange to have this sensation and I'll be aware if it comes back. Thanks for your input. I'm planning on golfing next week and will be walking on the beach barefoot this summer and hope the tingling doesn't reappear!
