Post Op Boot?

Post a new topicby kel on Mon Mar 24, 2008 7:31 pm

I'm having surgery sometime within the next 2 weeks (date will be determined tomorrow) and I'm wondering about the post op boot everyone talks about. I know what a normal post op shoe is, but I have no idea what a boot is. I am also curious if anyone was given an orthowedge shoe. It seems to me that this would be the best bet for helping the healing process. Any one who can give me any insight into this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi! I had MN surgery three months ago and all I had was the surgery shoe. Also had the shoe after bunionectomy and osteotomy. I have heard of people on here using the boot but my dr. didn't ever mention one. This isn't much help I know, but good luck with your surgery!

Hi! Thanks for replying and thanks for the well-wishes. My surgery is scheduled for Thursday. I went ahead and ordered the orthowedge shoe. I honestly don't know if I'll use it or not. I guess it will be a wait and see.

Thanks again,

I hope that your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly. I haven't heard of an orthowedge shoe. It sounds like it may help. Every little bit helps....
