Re: Specific surgery recovery questions

I had my surgery on Feb 19 and my doctor cut from the top. I was on crutches for 1 week and then a walking cast for 2. After that i was slowly able to walk alittle. But over the past 3 weeks, i have developed a stump neuroma and am going back to surgery on the 11th of June. This time he says that he will have to cut from the bottom. I guess that only 10 % of the people with neuroma surgery end up getting a stump on the nerve. Of course I am one of the 10%. I am ready to have the surgery and start healing. My son gets married in September and hopefully I am walking without pain by then.

My incision was on the top of my foot and as a result i have some numbness in my toes but hey i dont think i will notice this in the long run.
Doc says that all is going as planned and it is recovering as expected. Just walk on as tolerated I am going back to work tuesday which will make it 3weeks. I think that will be real test. I have to get the other foot done too......yuk!

I feel alot of pain on the pad of my foot right below the 3rd and 4 toes. I can only wear my adidas flip flops that have memory foam in them. I will have my next surgery on the 11th of June after my daughter graduates from high school. I have read that the stump surgery is successful 75% of the time. I am hoping I will be in that category this time.I am on percoset most of the time now. I try to limit my time on my feet but it isn't easy being the only one at home running the kids around. My husband is in the military and stationed elsewhere until he retires next year, so he isn't any help but my kids have been great.
