swelling, foods, meds, ice

Post a new topicby johnolly2 on Sun Sep 30, 2007 9:14 am

I see that I am the first person on here. I have an unusual or at least I think it is unusual situation. I never had any problem with arthritus until I started working on repairing a house and worked for hours with hammer and other tools. I started getting pain in my hands not thinking anything of it. I got the swelling and everything. I have stopped doing that kind of work a few years ago, but the pain and swelling never went away. I was thinking that if I could keep the swelling away by using ice and heat long enough it would go back to the way it was. Has anyone expereanced something like this? I could never disiplin myself long enough to keep the ice packs on daily like I should to keep the swelling away.

The swelling would probable just reoccur, you should get some x rays and a diagnosis, then the appropriate treatment, good luck
