Plantar Warts

Hi,
I had 4 small plantar warts on my right foot. 2 on the heel, one in the middle, and one small cluster on the ball of my foot. I got them cut out 4 days ago. I've been instructed to soak my foot in Betadine and water. Then I put on Gentamicin Cream. Now, I am not sure if I am supposed to put the cream inside the holes?--could that slow down the healing process? I am wondering how long the healing process may take. I was told that I would be walking on this foot quickly, but the pain is unbearable if I try. So, I am stuck on crutches and a surgical shoe, which doesn't help. Also, please let me know if it is normal to have pain/burning where the holes are? I would have thought it would be over by now. How is it going to start looking? It looks very nasty at this point. Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated.
