causes of plantar warts

Post a new topicby lakeridge on Mon Apr 13, 2009 9:01 pm

I have had two plantar warts rmoved from the ball of my foot within the past four months. I understand that one cause may be showering daily in a public fitness center facility. It has tile floors and is utilized by many folks daily. My question is this: Would wearing shower sandals and not making skin contact with the tile floors lessen or negate the chance of getting more warts?

Plantar warts are a common skin infection that occurs on the bottom side of your foot. Warts are benign tumors of the epidermis. The HPV virus enters the body through a break in the skin. The virus grows in warm, moist environments, such as those created in a locker room or in your shoes when your feet perspire and the moisture is trapped.
A virus penetrating into the injured or cut skin causes the plantar warts. Effect of virus, causing the plantar warts, cant be noticed immediately.
