An x-ray will not necessarily show some types of foreign objects including glass. However, your description of the area means it could be a few different things. It could be what is known as an intractable plantar keratosis (IPK). A IPK is an area of skin that became sealed off and the skin is growing into itself rather than outward toward the surface. This is not serious however. It can be removed in the office very easily. It may also be a wart but probably is not. However, in order to determine what your actual diagnosis is, you should see a podiatrist. A podiatrist will be able to give you a proper diagnosis and ease the pain you are suffering from.
