how do you know??My husband was told by his doctor that he had plantars warts. He has been treating them with an OTC treatment for about 10 days now. The area around the wart is turning white and he has a small hole in the bottom of his foot where the "core" of the wart came out. We were just wondering if this is normal? Was it even a wart in the first place, and, if so, how can we tell when it's healed?

Re: how do you know??Yes, the treatment will whiten the healthy skin around the wart and if there is a hole, then it does sound like the core fell out. If that is the case you will just have to treat it like a wound until it heals. The hole will close in and more than likely you'll have a scar.
