Large Blister from wart removalMy son had 2 sections of his foot treated for Plantars Warts on Wednesday. The larger wart was on his heel. The "blister" from the freezing has spread all over his heel. I took him back to the doctor on Monday to look at this blister. She told us it appeared that what she used to remove the wart dripped down his foot. So it appears that she froze a large amount of healthy foot by mistake. Has anyone ever heard of this before? The blister is painful. it is filled with fluid. It doesn't appear to be hardening at all. He is unable to put weight on the back part of his foot. At what point is the considered "uncommon"?
Re: Large Blister from wart removalInadvertant treatment to an area unrelated to the site of interest is not routine but can happen for any number of reasons. The blister should be pierced at some point if it does not deflate soon(within 7 days post-op). A small window will be removed to prevent the blister from closing and refilling with fluid. Persist with your doctor in a firm, calm, professional manner and this will resolve well. hope that helps.
