Plantar wart freezing gone bad

Post a new topicby TLC on Mon Aug 06, 2007 4:51 pm

My son had a plantar wart frozen 6 weeks ago. It has been a nightmare. It blew up, was very painful for days, finally advised to poke hole in it. It drained for days then stopped but the size of the black blister stayed the same. About like a golf ball cut in half. Returned to dr and he cut it open and pulled out blood clots. Now we've been treating a huge wound for weeks. We've gone from Neosporin to a special salve and now we've started prescription silver cream for extreme burns. The size has shrunk a little, but ha formed a white wall around the wound. Most people remark that he looks like he was shot in the foot. We're wondering if we need to see a specialist as the dr today said it looks like the seed of the wart may have dispersed and at least 3 places are on the edge of the wound.

I've had plantar warts removed by dermatologists and never experienced the problems your son is having but I would suggest it's time for another doc opinion. podiatrist or dermatologist. good luck!

I agree, I would get a second opinion from a podiatrist of wound specialist
