Plantars Warts Can any one help me?I have been dealing a bad case of planters warts every week over a year. I have seeked medical assistance of two certified DPM's. We have tried following procedures: 80% Acid, cut out removal, Efudex 5% Topical treatment, Laser removal, a doctor applied substance pronounced Canthrown. Although laser removal effective on warts apped after my first months of treatment, "Mor" section (about size of two quarters) continues to plaque me. After consulting my doctor week, we opted to try anor Canthrown treatment on remaining wart a. treatment is very painful, causing a large blister on treated a. treatment on a smaller a not effective prior, I feel we may be running out of options. Can anyone recommend anor treatment? I am open to trying anything, even something deemed experimental. I really don't know to do! Thanks
Re: Plantars Warts Can any one help me?There are no experimental treatments that we know of but that does not mean you have no options left. First, as I am sure you know, warts are caused by a very resilient virus that lives deep in the body. Furthermore, the fact that you have many warts sounds like you have a condition called mosaic warts. These are even more resilient than normal. Therefore, removing the warts does not mean they cannot reoccur. However, one option you did not mention trying was cryosurgery where the warts are frozen. This can be very effective. If this is not available or you do not want to try it, the two best cure rates reported are with the pulse-dye laser treatments or the 80% acid. The best advice we can give you is not to switch back and forth between therapies. Pick one and use it continually. Finally, a non-proven, experimental treatment is to have a very optimistic outlook towards the treatment. If you do not believe it will work, it probably won't. Remember, the virus that cause warts only lives about five years. Although that may seem long, you should be happy that you are not stuck with them for life. So stay optimistic and use the laser or 80% acid.
