Visit Number 14 for Plantar Wart Removal

Well, today I will be going for my 14th trip to the Podiatrist to have more Plantar Warts removed. This is probably about the 31st and 32nd that i have had removed since 2001. That is when they first appeard. I found out I contracted them because I took a shower after my daughter who was 11 at the time. She had spent the weekend with a friend who had them and never told her. She had them all over the bottom of one of her feet. She had them removed, and they have never returned.

I, on the other had, have had them ever since. My podiatrist have given me Tagamet to see if that would halt the reoccurance, but with no luck. Usually I have two or three removed at the time. They usually come up on my right foot. And today is no exception, two on my right foot. I have had only about 6 or 7 on my left foot.

I'm not immediately worried about having them removed because I'm in pretty good health. But, being diabetic, I do worry in the back of my mind, that as I get older, it will get harder and harder for them to heal. And all i can think about is all the stories i have heard about diabetics having their foot amputated because of a sore that wouldn't heal and became so infected that there was nothing else they could do.

I long for the day that I can walk, run, and exercise without burning pain on the bottoms of my feet. I'll keep praying for that day.
