I hate to bring bad news but if it is RSD, then probably yes.
I've been diagnosed with RSD for a little over two years now. I kept on calling the neurologist for refills on my 6 mo prescription of neurontin. When I called the last time, two weeks ago, she had me see her again. As soon as she saw me she said it was getting worse and changed my med to lyrica.
As far as I know, if the RSD last for more than a few weeks or spreads, chances are it's for life.
Again, sorry to be the messenger of bad news.
