Re: when it startedI can truly sympathize and understand what you're experiencing. I've been suffering from RSD for the last seven years, however, in my entire leg. I too developed RSD from several surgeries ranging from major to minor ones to include using screws to hold my bone in place. I also have a young child, a 5 year old daughter who is a blessing and the very best part of my life. I understand how heartbreaking it can be to experience RSD pain and it effect the simple things in life some take for granted; being able to care for (hold/carry) your little one. Just from my own knowledge and experience, If RSD is left untreated, it can get much worse over time. There are many treatments out there that can be used for RSD while still continuing to live life to the fullest, and hopefully pain free. As you know, there's no wonder drug that takes it all away but there are many treatment options you may be intrested in that can and will help. There's always hope.
I wanted to refer you to the RSDS Association who helped me find an outstanding doctor in my area who specializes in RSD and other pain disorders that I continue to see. My doctors have showed unconditional understanding and hope to me and my family that I know we couldn't go without. Please check out the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association at: www.rsds.org or call their toll free line at: 1-877-662-7737. Wishing you the very best.
