Other web sitesGood weekend to all!
I do not know if anyone remembers me or not, however, if anyone recalls I was looking for the posting regarding how RSD attacks the internal organs. Well I was in my docs office the other day and rececived the web site that I used to belong to. It is also a support group in my area. It is good from what I remember - here goes = www.rsdhope.org Additionally, I requested them about how rsd attacks the internal organs and they directed me to another site where here too I use to belong to. This is a avery useful site for when you need to look things up. The Neuorologist is very savy in RSD! The site is (and many of you prob already know it but here goes) www/rsdrx.com/rsdpuz4.0/puz_19.htlm (this is the puzzle that gives the information regarding how rsd atacks the internal organs. I do believe that this Neurologist is actually up to puzzle #143. When i first started on this site yrs aga it only descrbed the disease and and only had a few items to click on. If you go onto the site it really has a lot of useful info for questions that maybe one has and we can not anwser and may not be on this site. I also found out through the site and through my new rsd specialist neuro that migranes are also part of this disease. This is also something that I am now starting to suffer. Well, enjoy your weekend ( and if you have not figured it out i am going thru insomia again I have been up all night as a result of the steriods for my headaches and to break the pain cucle. Thanks once agin for listening and I do hope that this web site mau be able to help someone! MEG
Re: Other web sitesHello meglaser,
Thank you very much for the information. I am sure that it will prove to be helpful to some of us, on this site. I know that you have been worried about how RSD attacks our internal organs for quite awhile, and I am very glad that you have found information, that has obviously been helpful to you. Also, it's good to hear that you have found a Dr. that you are very comfortable with, because of his knowledge of RSD. I am sorry to hear that you are now suffering from migraines. I have heard that migraines can be related to RSD. Also, a friend of mine who suffers from RSD, also suffers from migraine headaches. Take good care of yourself Meg. I hope that you're doing better, and that the side effects from the exposure to methane gas, have subsided. Bussey
Re: Other web sitesHi Bussey!
Believe it or not they just contacted me and want to see me this Friday! They do not know how to pursue with this one. Workman's Comp nor the attorneys. At least workman's comp wants copies of our pictures, films and boardmeeting. Believe it or not my new neurologist is doing more for me than my old one. I had cluster migranes and was told he could not do anything but tell me to go to the ER. Last week I started in again, of course the rsd was acting up everywhere, My new neuro was on vaca so the the other rsd nuero specialist called me back and called in predisone and something for the headaches. He said that both would hopefully stop the headaches but the predisone would help the rsd. He was correct. I am exhasted but feeling somewhat better. Check the sight out. There are puzzles that may anwser some questions you may have, If so print them and keep them with you. My sister, who is a nurse, told me I need to keep some of these articles/ documentation with me so that the docs in the ER know how to treat me instead of almost kill me like they did the two times ago. I hope you are doing well!! keep me updated! Thanks for the update! MEG
Re: Other web sitesMeg,
This are wonderful website and use them and recommend them to others. I carry information with me from RSDhope in my purse. Often it is easier to give someone this information to read than to try and expalin it to them. They have a hospital protocol sheet that I carry with me too. The one time I had to go to the ER, that was the first thing I asked, "Do you know what RSD is?" I was vry lucky and both the nurse and the doctor were familiar. The doctor just looked at me, didn't even attempt an exam and gave me the meds I needed. My husband is retired military, so our records are kept electronically at the military hospital I go to and it is documented in my records that I have RSD. I also have a medical alert necklace that says "RSD/ CRPS NO IVs, BPs or NEEDLES IN LEFT ARM. CHRONIC PAIN DISORDER. PHYSICAL TOUCH CAN CAUSE PAIN. HANDLE WITH CARE." My Pm recommended the necklace, but the primary didn't think it was necessary because it wasn't a life threatening condition. Reta
Re: Other web sitesMy sister is a retired nurse and told me to carry rsd info in my purse, however you are right i do need to where a bracelet now that it is in the lower extremety of my hand and arm. Where did you get your bracelet?
Re: Other web sitesMeg,
I did some research and found the website I got my medic alert necklace from. http://www.oneida-medical-jewelry.com/necklaces.html. I was very impressed with this company. I have the stainless steel dog tag and it has 12 lines on it. It was $18.95, plus $1.00 for shipping. I got in one week. There are a wide variety of styles and prices. This company had the best prices and engraving is free. Reta
