Pain managementI am always surprised when I read how many people attend pain management.
PM was offered to me eight month after the onset of my RSD but I refused to go for the following reasons. Neither my orthopedic surgeon physician, 3 neurologist's, chiropractor or physiotherapist's, had any understanding of what RSD is truly all about, especially when it is spreading, consequently, they had even less understanding of the severity of physical pain and that is when they pond us off to pain management. Unless the individual who is teaching PM has experienced RSD it would not be logical to understand what we are going through. Further to this, by far to many in the field of medicine, are jumping on the band wagon of PM without being board certified. I recently spoke with someone I have known for a long time, she is a retired teacher. Politely, I had asked what she is doing with her spare time, to which she replied, that she is taking a course in PM. Surprised, I asked how many month that would take, to which she answered, 3 weeks. Scary world we live in. Truth Seeker
