RSD misdiagnosed for yearsOK to start I've seen many docs over the years, none have had a clue, very disappointed! Started in left foot after ramming into my cedar chest. About 8 wks later could not move toes and extreme pain, swelling, constant muscle spasms and ticking. My foot is always on fire, cannot have any covers at night on this foot, the colder the better. Walking is very difficult, always have a limp, mornings are the worse as well. It has also started to move to the right foot tho not as extreme. Past docs have told me oh you have RLS, or I need custom insoles in my shoes. Now yrs later I'm seeing deformity on the top of my foot, lumps are forming. I'm afraid that I've waited too long to get the right treatment.
Also have Fibromyalgia and my foot was also attributed to this as well. Now I do not have any health care and need help getting treatment as I do not want to be crippled in the coming years. This is my main concern as it is affecting me to find a job suited to me. Cannot be on my feet more than 20 min. max. A recent divorce has pushed me into finding a job and low income as well. I just do not know what to do, already on antidepressants for chronic pain. I have no pain meds prescribed so take motrin otc. I'm sure I'm not the only woman in this position and would like feedback as to any help I can receive. Many thanks for listening!
Re: RSD misdiagnosed for yearsI'm new here and I definitely feel your pain!
I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia degenerative disc disease, raynaulds syndrome, hypermobility, depression and anxiety, EBV, and carpal tunnel. One Dr. told me I have chronic pain from scoliosis and another is sending me to a Neurologist for MS. I have researched alot on my own and came up with RSD- the docs are now testing and definitely seeing the symptoms!!!! Sometimes you have to push issues and research yourself. My symptoms have been going on over 5 years and some days I can barely function. I have 2 little ones to take care of and a husband who doesn't understand any of it!!!!!!!!!!!! Just hang in there and find the right doctors.
