I have RLMD, I was not diagnosed by a doctor yet but I have ALL the symptoms ( ask my poor wife ). Is there anything I can try over the counter that can help me or can anyone give advice on this. I plan on telling my doctor on my next visit. Thanks.

I have documented PLMD and it stinks. I've had it probalby 20 years but didn't really do anything about it until 4 years ago. I've gone through 3 types of medications. In the beginning they work, but slowly, they seem to have not affect. I'm taking requip right now, and it does help most of the time. I'm one of the lucky ones that has few side affects. Dry mouth is about all I get. For some crazy reason, the medication doesn't have any affect during and surrounding the full moon. The pharmacist has told me this isn't so strange. I have cut down on caffeine and alcohol. A hot bath, light exercise and mental stimulation before bed (15 minutes of a computer game) seem to have a positive affect. I am not an advocate of medication and never have been, but this disorder has driven me to medication because it is so uncomfortable and I realize that sleep is a necessity. Good luck, I hope you can beat it.

Thanks for the reply jmon. I don't drink alcohol but do drink coffee. Naturally I would think to give up caffeine with a problem like this and I did quit caffeine, just drank decafe, but with no change in my PLMD.
