Living with Rheumatoid

Post a new topicby livingwith on Fri Aug 17, 2007 7:27 pm

Diagnoised [diagnosed] about 1 year ago…it had started to improve as far as movement and pain. I am now finding that the medications that I am currently taking are in my opinion not doing anything for me. I take Methotraxate 10 mgs once a week and an injection of Humera once every other week. I can no longer get my rings on my right hand over my knuckles. Some days are worse than others and I am dreading the winter coming with the COLD weather. Has anyone had any other success stories....Read the full article

Hi,

I was dx in 2003 with psoriatic arthritis. I tried enbrel for 15 months and it stopped working for me so I went to humira which didn't work to well either, so we bumped it up to once a week and it seems to be doing a bit better, it lasts at least 5 days before I start up with my pain medications. About a month ago I was tested for the anti-ccp test, it came back high positive meaning that I have RA overlapping disease along with severe psoriatic arthritis...strange but true. At least I will be able to obtain medication for either disease, most times the drugs in the pipeline flow down to RA first. Most of the medications used, remicade, enbrel and humira are used in psoriatic arthritis but I do realize that others such as orencia and rutaxin are exclusive to RA if I have my facts straight that is.

Anyway, I understand humira for RA is approved for rx'd once a week. Perhaps this is something that you might want to discuss at your next rheum appt.

be well.
