No one understandsI am amazed to this day that very few people know what Rheumatoid Arthritis is. Even my hand doctors who were splinting me, my radiologists who were giving me knee braces with a script, even my my own father, a Doctor (!) and mother (a nurse!) could not understand why I was so crippled.

Re: No one understandsI completely understand how you feel. I am 36 years old and have had to deal with RA since I was 31. People do not understand. People in my age group especially do not understand. They dont understand when I have bad days, not just physically but mentally as well. To them, arthritist is just something that strikes older people and it is not a big deal. I have to admit before I was diagnosed, I didnt undertsand what RA was. I had no idea. Now that I am dealing with it, I have a lot more respect for it and for individuals that have to deal with it as well! I have been on numerous of medications, on and off of prednisone (I have recently had to go back on) I am currently trying to get the arthritist under control so that I can have my right knee replaced. This week I will be starting Orencia to see if that can help.
I hope all is going well for you, I realize you posted a couple of weeks ago. I just found this web site and wanted to post also.
