Foot injury

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Jul 04, 2001 12:44 pm

About three weeks ago I was running approximately 5 miles ( which is an average run for me) and the outside of my left foot began to cramp up. For about a week and 1/2 I had trouble walking but not seems to be healing slowly. When I walk to much on it the side of foot aches as well as my ankle. In fact when the injury occurred my ankle was swollen. What could of happened? Is there anything I can do to Preventing it from happening again?

You need to find out what structure was damaged. It may have been a bone or a tendon. Once the structure is identified, prevention will be easier. You may benefit from orthotics which could help disperse weight away from the outside of your foot and relieve the pain. Therefore, you should see a podiatrist for a thorough examination.
