Fractured Sesamoid/length of healing time

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I have a fractured sesamoid. How long will injury take to heal? I read in a medical jnal it can take up to a full year to truly heal. Do I d return to exercising? While pain seems to be declining, I still have swelling very minor aching at end of day. I have not been casted or put in a flat shoe. podiatrist I am going to made orthotics my feet. While y seem to help, I feel like or as of my feet aching. Is simply muscles/tendons reacting to orthotic?

Sesamoids take 6-8 weeks to heal. Therefore, you should not try to exericise until this time period is up. The orthotics are probably making the other parts of your foot hurt. However, you should see your podiatrist and ask him these same questions. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
