Cn improper shoes and poor store bought orthotics cause leg pains? I have been walking 5-6 miles/day for the past 12 years. $ months ago I was treating my heel spur pain with store bought orthotics It worked but then I developed leg pain. I swa an orthopedic guy. I do have slight deg. arthriits of my lower spine my MRI turned out neg. so i was just wondering if my seeing a podiatrist for good orthotics could alleviate my leg pain?

I cannot guarantee that properly prescribed orthotics are will alleviate your pain. However, orthotics prescribed by a podiatrist will certainly be better than over-the-counter inserts. The inserts you bought are probably tilting your foot too much in the wrong direction. This is causing strain on your tendons and most likely causing your leg pain. Good luck and please write back if you have any further questions.
