numbness from knee to ankleI ran on asphalt right after the thaw and it was a simple run (3 miles) but I have been training on a treadmill for the past 6 months. The next day I had complete numbness alongside the front shinbone from the knee to the ankle. It is only in 1 leg - and I went to the Dr. and they just told me to take ibuprofen and it would go away. That was 3 weeks ago. I am participating in a triathlon this coming weekend and am concerned about further injuring myself. I have been swimming and biking more since my injury, but I still run for at least 1-3 miles couple days a week. I don't have any pain, just numbness. It is just very unsettling. Is there anything else that I can do? I do not want to continue with this numbness. And I really want to know what the problem is in detail. Can it be remedied?
Re: numbness from knee to ankleI am sure it can be resolved but you should seek a second opinion until you are given an exact diagnosis and though set of treatment options. You probably should not particiapte in the triathalon as well because it may cause further damage.
