pain near the tuberosity of 5th metatarsal

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Sep 18, 2002 9:07 am

I have just noticed a dull pain on my right foot near the tuberosity of 5th metatarsal bone. I am a moderate runner and have never experienced this before. It is not noticeably swollen and it is only mildly irritating (intermittent) when I am running or when I push on that area. Is this something to be worried about, or do you think it is just a bruising of that bone? I don't recall when I could have bruised it. Thanks!

It is something that kyou should have examined. The most common injuries to this area ia a tendonitis where peroneus brevis inserts on the bone as well as a stress fracture. Therefore, you should see a podiatrist if the pain continues.
