Right Knee (outside) painOver the past 6 months I have been experiencing a pain that develops in the knee joint of my right leg on the outside at the point where the lateral muscle hinges. I run in the gym on a tread mill and was able to run 6 km's in 30 minutes. Now the pain starts within 10 minutes. I have been to a physio who has suggested that my muscle may have contracted for a variety of reasons and I have undergone ultrasound treatement for a few weeks (as well as complete lay off from runnig). However, of no avail. She now says that it could be because I am flat footed and I need to insert an arch in my shoes. I am 40 , have been athletic all my life , so why the flat footedness now ? She says it is classic tendenitis ...anything you can suggest?
Re: Right Knee (outside) painIt probbaly is a tendonitis which happens more often to athletic people than anyone else. Flat feet can cause the muscles on the outside of your leg to become irritated or too strong an actually cause your kneecap to move to the side and cause pain. Therefore, you should see an orthopedist as well a podiatrist to be properly diagnosed and treated.
