running injury

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Jan 02, 2002 12:38 am

I run for a college team and just recently I started having pains in my left foot. I have never been injured before. I have no idea what is wrong because I can walk on it without any pain. Everytime I run I feel a sharp pain throughout my foot and a slight pulling on the side. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

You probably have a strained tendon that is only painful when you are at a high activity level. This could be caused by many factors including foot shape, one leg being longer than the other or simply overuse. You should see you school's trainer or see a podiatrist for a thorough examination and diagnosis so you can receive the proper treatment to ease your pain. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
